Debbie has been dancing and choreographing in San Francisco and the East Bay/Tri-Valley for over 45 years.
Her primary focus in dance has been ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary and has choreographed and performed in numerous productions around the Bay Area and East Bay over that time.
She currently teaches Ballet and Dance Fusion classes thru the City of San Ramon to teens and adults and has done so locally for the past 18 years.
Debbie is also the Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director of San Ramon’s resident dance company Jumpin’ at the Sun (JATS) and has been an Arts Foundation board member since October, 2013. JATS is San Ramon’s first and only resident professional dance company. Their goal is to bring professional dance to our local community and create a stronger community through dance.
Co-artistic directors Debbie Saravia and Lindsey Saravia Neville are a mother daughter team who hope to help build a strong professional dance scene in San Ramon and neighboring communities. You no longer need to cross a bridge or go through a tunnel or even leave your city to access professional dance in the Bay Area. We strive to destigmatize professional dance and show that dance is an art form meant to be shared and enjoyed in a casual, comfortable, and welcoming environment where dance aficionados and people who have never seen dance before can come and be entertained and inspired at a reasonable price.
Debbie’s ‘day job’ is working for AT&T. Her current title is Senior Project Manager but has also held Analyst and Technical Architect positions (among many others) during her 36 year career. Her goal is to retire at the 40 year mark!
